With crucial matches determining placements and semifinalists, the day was packed with dramatic twists, overtime nail-biters, and remarkable comebacks. From historic victories to dominant displays by title contenders, this day will be remembered as a true showcase of floorball at its best.

Philippines - Poland 9:8 OT: A Historic Victory in an Emotional Rollercoaster

The battle for 11th place between the Philippines and Poland turned into a dramatic spectacle. Poland started strong, leading 4:2 after the first period and extending their advantage to 7:5 by the end of the second. However, the Filipinos showcased incredible determination and attacking prowess, fighting back to level the score at 8:8 in the final period.

The overtime was one for the record books—lasting just three seconds. A quick play by the Philippines secured them the 9:8 victory, an emotional milestone for a team that continues to make its mark on the international floorball stage.

Denmark - Estonia 2:3 OT: A Penalty Decides 9th Place

Denmark and Estonia faced off in a tightly contested game where every moment mattered, with significant implications for their world rankings. Estonia capitalized on a powerplay in the second period to take the lead, while Denmark fought back to level the game 2:2 late in regulation.

They surged ahead 2:0 in the opening period, but Switzerland mounted a fierce comeback, leveling the score at 2:2 in the second and even taking a 3:2 lead.

Latvia’s relentless pressure paid off in the third period as they tied the game 3:3, pushing it into overtime. Just 2:24 into extra time, Latvia delivered the decisive blow, shattering Swiss hopes and securing their place in the semifinals. A statement win for a team on the rise.

Finland - Norway 6:1: A Masterclass from the Favorites

Finland, fresh off a victory against Sweden, entered their quarterfinal against Norway with momentum on their side. Yet, it was Norway who struck first, stunning the crowd with a goal just 32 seconds into the game. Finland, however, quickly regrouped and turned the tide, scoring twice within 13 seconds to take a 2:1 lead, which they extended to 3:1 before the first intermission.

The Finns controlled the game with precision, easing off the gas in the second period to conserve energy for the semifinals while still adding another goal. In the third period, they sealed the deal with two more strikes, cruising to a commanding 6:1 victory. A performance that solidifies their status as championship favorites.
