The column dedicated to the floorball referee rules is back.
The Floorballmania column is back, dedicated to the refereeing rules and like every week Roland De Conno, Italian Federal Referee and IFF, answers the questions that come to the Floorballmania editorial staff.
The column, shared and in collaboration with the Italian Unihockey Floorball Federation, is arousing a lot of interest, according to the questions that come to our email.
Hi Roland let's start with our questions.
1) Is there a time set aside for the teams to warm up according to the regulations? Can the break between the first, second and third time be less than 10 minutes, and if the teams agree?
2) Is there a rule that prohibits the exultation of a team that has just scored in the opposing half of the pitch?
3) we have seen the use of var also in floorball in international competitions, do you think it is useful for this sport? What are the occasions on which you would use it during a game? Has this new element been included in the regulation?
At the moment the international federation uses the var only in the case of networks that are not entirely clear. In my opinion, the choice is totally understandable, the fast game and perhaps even faster ball can cause confusion.
Evaluating if the ball has completely crossed the goal line or if the goal is moved, if it has crossed within the boundaries is a difficult task on certain occasions.
It must be said that during international competitions there are always present crews who film the game to show it live on dedicated YouTube channels. It goes without saying that connecting a laptop to the artist table is simple and effective.
In the Italian league it also happened to me that I was present as a referee during a so-called ghost goal. It is also not a good feeling because you only judge what you have actually seen and not based on the opinion of the players on the pitch.
Having said that, I believe that the use of technology in this sense becomes expensive not only economically for each team but also in terms of human resources. Of course it is easy to think that having all the teams now have a video camera for shooting the match, they can be used in these cases, but the reality from my point of view is very different.
At the regulation level, the var has not been included even at the international level but remains an appendix to the vademecum of competitions.
Thanks to Roland De Conno Pobitzer, Italian Federal Referee and IFF, for answering our questions.
