C'era una volta, in una nazione fatta di calcio e calciatori, l'idea di portare un nuovo sport e farlo diventare grande.

Erano gli anni 90 quando ci fu l'idea di giocare a Floorball in Italia.

Il Floorball e che cos'è?

Dicono di giochi con una pallina ed una stecca, un po' come il gioco dell'hockey ma senza ghiaccio.

E così gli impavidi sportivi cominciarono a farsi vedere in giro con stecca e pallina e, partita dopo partita, cominciarono a fare conoscere questo sport ad altri che a loro volta cominciarono a fare lo stesso.

Fu così che dai primi anni novanta si arriva al giorno 11 dicembre 2000 quando, per volontà di alcune squadre, nasce la Federazione Italiana unihockey floorball.

Allora oggi voglio dire Buon Compleanno F.I.U.F,  buon compleanno a chi ha creduto che tutto questo si potesse realmente realizzare, buon compleanno a chi ha dedicato molto del suo tempo privato solo ed esclusivamente per il bene e la passione per il floorball.

Buon compleanno a tutti i presidenti che si sono susseguiti dal quel fatidico 11 dicembre 2000, soprattutto al primo di essi David Lazzari che ebbe una grande responsabilità.

Buon Compleanno alle società che compongono la nostra grande famiglia, a quelle società che tutti gli anni fanno enormi, direi mostruosi sacrifici per far sì che la nostra amata FIUF vada avanti e che sia sempre più grande.

Buon compleanno ai presidenti delle società che non essendo come i presidenti di calcio professionistico, fanno di tutto e di più per far sì che le loro società crescano avvicinando a se sempre più giovani.

Buon compleanno a quei giovani che hanno scelto questo sport anziché seguire il branco e frequentare sport più blasonati.

Buon compleanno ai tecnici, agli allenatori di squadre e di nazionali.

Buon compleanno ai tifosi ed ai genitori che seguono i figli ovunque pur di vederli felici.

Buon Compleanno a chi veste la maglia della nazionale italiana con onore e spavalderia fiero di aver realizzato il suo sogno e di aver cantato l'inno di Mameli.

Buon Compleanno al floorball italiano, è la nostra festa godiamocela.

Happy Birthday to the companies that make up our big family, to those companies that every year make enormous, I would say monstrous sacrifices to ensure that our beloved FIUF goes on and that it is always bigger.
