We leave Finland and come back closer to Italy, we leave the players young and we are talking about a young Coach, young for his age, certainly not for his experience.

BaselRegio coach in Switzerland, always looking for something new to teach his kids, always looking to improve and improve his colors are red and black, we are talking about the Coach Jeremia DEGEN.

1) Hi Jeremiah, thank you for accepting our interview. Meanwhile how are you after this quarantine?

Thanks, my family and my team is already healthy. And I am happy this quarantine will be over.

2) introduce yourself to our readers, who are you and what do you do in life as well as being a coach and teaching floorball?

I am working as a CRM Manager for a local bank in Switzerland. When I got the time, I love to cook (follow @swisshomefood)

3) When was your passion for floorball born? And when above all your passion for Coaching was born?

I was 12 years old, a good friend of mine asked me to come to a training in his club. I played floorball before, but only in a local sportsclub wich floorball is one of many other activities.

after this training I wanted to stay there and play floorball for the next 13 years.

After a few years of playing in the 3th league of Switzerland, I decided to coach our u21 team. I had already the age to play there too.

So I played for two teams and coached o3) When was your passion for floorball born? And when above all your passion for Coaching was born?

4) Can you tell us about your first day as a floorball player? And now tell us the coach one instead? What are the differences?

in the beginning of my floorball career I had no influence to the team. I was a small player how loved the sport and that’s it.

As a coach I can move a hole team, I felt in love to raise with the team and improve every player

5) What are the sporting and human characteristics that a Coach must have?

I think it helps a lot to have played the sport which you coach. But the most important thing is your passion to the sport. If there is none, you don’t have a chance to coach a team.

6) Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, are the queens, what would you recommend to a young Italian coach to grow in this role?

Do your way. But be always open to improve your coaching skills. Try new things out and if you like it, keep them!

7) What personal goals do you have for your next season? And which ones for the team you train?

I want to focus on the important things. Last year I wanted to do everything with my team, that’s not possible.

My guys are young talented players so I want to give them the best opportunities to improve them selfs

8) Is Baselregio a society attentive to youth growth? How many kids can you count on today?

Absolutely! The focus on youth growth is high, we all know you can’t have success without your youth.
In my I got 26 players at the moment.

9) Let's play a game. What do you say to your defender who makes a penalty foul to avoid a goal? And what do you say to the goalkeeper who has to try to save him?

it depends on the situation, but I think I would repeat with him the sutation and talk about the best solution. If this will be the foul, it may be.

My goalies know I totally trust them, so I give them a “let’s go” that’s it.

Deny Känzig – right winger
