Vera FLURI

Floorballmania continues on the youth tour and this time we land on Swiss soil.

Swiss player, young player with excellent individual technique and an excellent position, instinctive, fast in the movements, her only thought is the ball and its goal.

Surely she has a splendid future ahead of her considering what she can do now, for her opponents having her in front of her is a problem, she is only 14 years old, but she will be talked about.

Estimated speaking of Vera FLURI.

1) Hi and thank you for accepting our interview. Meanwhile, how are you after this quarantine period? I hope everything is OK.

Hi, thank you for asking I’m fine. After this whole quarantine stuff, I’m very glad to play floorball again. I really missed it.

 2) introduce yourself to our readers, who are you and what do you do in life besides being a great floorball goalkeeper?

My name is Vera. I‘m 14 years old and I live in Switzerland (Solothurn). I‘m in the 9th grade in a High School (KSSO).

Later, I want to study medicine and work as a veterinarian or a physiotherapist. I really like to do creativ stuff like drawing pictures and play the piano. I also like to do other sports and spend time with my friends.

 3) When was your passion for floorball born? Can you tell us about your first day of floorball? Who made you discover this sport?

When I was in 4th grade, I was in a sport club and we went to a floorballgame. I played as a goalie like I do today. It was just a day were we played against other sport clubs.

At the end of the day, we were ranked 2nd. I still remember some great saves and since then I wanted to play floorball. I actually do have a picture of this day:

I’m the person in the front, I wore a red hoodie.

Also my oldest cousin does play floorball. From him I got my first stick and sometimes my mother and I watched him play in his games.

I got so fastinated by this game and then I wanted to play too. I think this was also a reason why I startet to play floorball.

 4) how did the last season go? When the pandemic broke out, was your season over? What do you expect from next season?

Acctually my last season wasn‘t the best. I tore my ligaments and had to pause a view weeks.

But I really think I can say, that in the games I played, I learned  a lot  and enjoyed every game. Sadly, we couldn‘t play our last two games of the season.

I‘m excpecting just a few things from the next season. At first I’m just happy to play floorball again. It‘s always a special moment to play against other teams.

Also I‘m looking forward to play many games and practicing more skills to be a better goalkeeper.

5) You are a player with good technique and you have excellent control of the ball, how many times do you train a week? In which league do you play?

It‘s pretty complicated because of Covid 19. Befor the pandemic broke out I trained 3 times a week (+ tournaments) with the junior woman B team.

At the moment, I also play 3 times a week but I practice with the womans first league (little field), also I plan to practice 4-5 times a week (+ tournament).

In the next season I will play as a goalkeeper for junior women B.

My goal is to play with the woman first league (little field) Team of my club uh Rüttenen. The woman team supports me so much and I‘m really thankful for that.

6) Have you ever participated in the rallies for the under national team? Are the championships in favor mixed or are there men's and women's groups?

For an under nationals team i‘ve never played before. I would be really happy if I‘ve been chosen to play for them. It would be a great experience, but im not this good to play there already.

In the leagues where I play, there are no mixed teams. Our teams are just womens or men. Sometimes in a training we play with men but thats not very often.

7) Every young player has a myth to follow or from which they take inspiration, who is your model player?

My model players are Lara Heini, Mirjam Hintermann and Nicola Bischofberger.

Even Nicola Bischofberger and Miriam Hintermann aren‘t goalkeepers, they are both big inspirations for me in other things like their talent, career and precis and unique techniques.

Obviously I want to learn the technique for a goalkeeper. Also I watch a lot of floorball stuff on social media and there are a view more people I‘d take some inspiration and advice from.

8) would you like to play in a Swedish or Finnish league? If the answer is yes which one would you like to play in?

The answer is defenetly yes. I don‘t know which team I would like to play in the most, but aniways I’m to young and have to learn and practice so much more. And then maybe in the future it could be possible.

I think it is way too early to talk about it. If it really happens someday, it‘s a big chance and I would take it.

Thanks Floorballmaniatv wishes you a lot of luck. We are honored and happy to have interviewed you.

Thank you for everything, I wish you all the best.
